Spiritual or physical

Being obedient to God’s ways has a positive influence even to your physical health. God’s ways and a His peace that surpasses all understanding, will give you the balanced life you need. He will deter you from distractions that will waste your energy and He will motivate you to things that really matters. His ways are the best ways, no doubt.
Dear friend, take my advice;
   it will add years to your life.
I’m writing out clear directions to Wisdom Way,
   I’m drawing a map to Righteous Road.
I don’t want you ending up in blind alleys,
   or wasting time making wrong turns.
Hold tight to good advice; don’t relax your grip.
   Guard it well—your life is at stake!
Don’t take Wicked Bypass;
   don’t so much as set foot on that road.
Stay clear of it; give it a wide berth.
   Make a detour and be on your way.
(Prov.4:10-15 MSG)

Prayer: You are the Master of life. I have to say Thank You for so many times you guided me back from wrong turns in life. You gave me understanding and peace. You helped me to be healthy even in dangerous environments. I like being with You, even if it would mean a shorter life. But being with You has made me more and more healthy and that has been an extra gift which I should thank for, every day of my life.

She keeps her eye on you

Wisdom and understanding is better than physical energy. Young people need it the most due to the big amount of very important decisions they are making. You can acquire wisdom by experience too, but you may ruin your life in the mean time. The only way you will benefit from the wisdom of experienced people is if you are humble enough to listen to them and consider their counsel. Listen to your father and mother. If you don’t have them, or if they are giving you a good example of life, look for the advice of experienced people that respect God and people.

Listen, friends, to some fatherly advice;
   sit up and take notice so you’ll know how to live.
I’m giving you good counsel;
   don’t let it go in one ear and out the other.
When I was a boy at my father’s knee,
   the pride and joy of my mother,
He would sit me down and drill me:
   “Take this to heart. Do what I tell you—live!
Sell everything and buy Wisdom! Forage for Understanding!
   Don’t forget one word! Don’t deviate an inch!
Never walk away from Wisdom—she guards your life;
   love her—she keeps her eye on you.
Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom!
   Write this at the top of your list: Get Understanding!
Throw your arms around her—believe me, you won’t regret it;
   never let her go—she’ll make your life glorious.
She’ll garland your life with grace,
   she’ll festoon your days with beauty.”
(Prov.4:1-9 MSG)

Prayer: Help me to cultivate wisdom and understanding. Help me to share your wisdom with others. It made my life more enjoyable. I am very happy for every time I was able to obey your counsel and guide. It made my life so much worth living. Thank you, oh God.

Don’t be a bully

It is good to have a great intelligence, power and quality of leader while it is controlled by honesty and humility. The moment you start to abuse of your power or pay attention to selfish motivations, your wisdom becomes stupidity. Righteous and wicked  people will experience the consequences of their decisions. You cannot ignore God and get away with it.

Don’t walk around with a chip on your shoulder,
   always spoiling for a fight.
Don’t try to be like those who shoulder their way through life.
   Why be a bully?
“Why not?” you say. Because God can’t stand twisted souls.
   It’s the straightforward who get his respect.
God’s curse blights the house of the wicked,
   but he blesses the home of the righteous.
He gives proud skeptics a cold shoulder,
   but if you’re down on your luck, he’s right there to help.
Wise living gets rewarded with honor;
   stupid living gets the booby prize. (Prov.3:30-35 MSG)

Prayer: Help me to be humble. To resist the temptation of following a selfish agenda. I am not naturally oriented to choose the best behavior.
The possibility of making bad choices is always present. I need your guidance. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help my thinking to be clear and straightforward. Help to honor You with my living.

Guard clear thinking

If you want to be alive and well, to be fit and attractive, to live without worries, to have peace of mind; you will have to guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense. God will be with you and keep you safe and healthy. And remember not to see your own good only, but consider your neighbor’s needs too. This is the opportunity you have to be God’s hands to your neighbor.

Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life;
   don’t for a minute lose sight of them.
They’ll keep your soul alive and well,
   they’ll keep you fit and attractive.
You’ll travel safely,
   you’ll neither tire nor trip.
You’ll take afternoon naps without a worry,
   you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep.
No need to panic over alarms or surprises,
   or predictions that doomsday’s just around the corner,
Because God will be right there with you;
   he’ll keep you safe and sound.
Never walk away from someone who deserves help;
   your hand is God’s hand for that person.
Don’t tell your neighbor “Maybe some other time”
   or “Try me tomorrow”
   when the money’s right there in your pocket.
Don’t figure ways of taking advantage of your neighbor
   when he’s sitting there trusting and unsuspecting.
(Prov.3:21-29 MSG)

Prayer: Help me to guard clear thinking and common sense. Fill me with Your life. Help me not to ignore someone in need. I want to be Your hands to my neighbors. Use me to show Your love to others.

Tree of life.

God’s wisdom and insight make life possible. It makes health become a reality. It protects you from the traps of life, makes life beautiful and worth living. God shows wisdom and insight in His Creation and He wants you to be wise too. It is your choice. He is ready to help you out.

You’re blessed when you meet Lady Wisdom,
   when you make friends with Madame Insight.
She’s worth far more than money in the bank;
   her friendship is better than a big salary.
Her value exceeds all the trappings of wealth;
   nothing you could wish for holds a candle to her.
With one hand she gives long life,
   with the other she confers recognition.
Her manner is beautiful,
   her life wonderfully complete.
She’s the very Tree of Life to those who embrace her.
   Hold her tight—and be blessed!
With Lady Wisdom, God formed Earth;
   with Madame Insight, he raised Heaven.
They knew when to signal rivers and springs to the surface,
   and dew to descend from the night skies.
(Prov.3:13-20 MSG)

Prayer: I am blessed by every time You let me know from Your wisdom, every time You give me insight of a situation. These are treasures I value. Help me to embrace Your wisdom. Let me to stick to it during my whole life. And I may give honor to Your name by my way of living, oh God. Nothing will make me more happy than to know and stick to Your plans.

Trust like a child.

You have to grow in your understanding and common sense, but at the same time remain humble to trust God. Growing brings the temptation that you may go on in your life by yourself ignoring God. No matter how much you grow, you will always remain like a child compared with God’s understanding, love and power. It is foolish to think that you can ignore God and have a good life on your own.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
   don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
   he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
   Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
   your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
   give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
   your wine vats will brim over.
But don’t, dear friend, resent God’s discipline;
   don’t sulk under his loving correction.
It’s the child he loves that God corrects;
   a father’s delight is behind all this.
(Prov.3:5-12 MSG)

Prayer: I trust You from the bottom of my heart. Sorry for trying to do things on my own. Make me humble to be able to listen to your voice in everything I do, everywhere I go. Help me to honor You in everything I do. Help me to endure your discipline specially when I cannot understand it yet, knowing that You are a loving father that will do the best for his child.

Love and Loyalty

If you want to live a long life, full and well, the best thing to do is to pay attention to God’s counsel; love and loyalty should become important values in your life; and have a good relationship with God and the people surrounding you.

Good friend, don’t forget all I’ve taught you;
   take to heart my commands.
They’ll help you live a long, long time,
   a long life lived full and well.
Don’t lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.
   Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.
Earn a reputation for living well
   in God’s eyes and the eyes of the people.
(Prov.3:1-4 MSG)

Prayer: Help me to make loyalty and love part of me. Integrity should be my way of life. Help me to live honestly in Your eyes and to be encouraging to others. I have to recognize that the most important things and virtues I acquired during my life were given to me as gifts from You. And in the areas where I am not mature enough, I need your help to grow. Without You, I am lost. You are my rock and my strength. You are my refuge and my shield. You are my inspiration and my hope.
